Obituary

Joan H. Fischbein, 91, passed away on March 21, 2025; beloved wife of the late Albert for 57 wonderful years; loving mother of Steven, Jill (Scott) Lefcourt, Seth (Alison) and the late Kenneth (Patricia); cherished grandma of Sarah ( Josh) Catalanotto, Alex Fischbein, Maxime Lefcourt, Michael Fischbein and Matthew Fischbein; adored great grandma of Theo; much loved sister, aunt and friend of many. A Docent at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center for 8 years, a graduate of the University of Illinois where she joined the EKT Sorority, and a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Joan loved to travel the world with her beloved Albert, they had a second home in Scottsdale, AZ, she loved reading, had many life long friends; but her greatest joy was being a grandma. Joan will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Memorial donations in her honor to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, www.ilholocaustmuseum.org.
