Joan Beth Beugen

Obituary

Joan Beth Beugen nee Caplan, age 77, of Chicago, IL passed December 23, 2020. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years Sheldon "Shel," daughter Sara, son in law Stephen, grandchildren Eli, Agnes, and Oscar, and brothers Richard and Norman (Rosemary Lopiano).

A graduate of Northwestern University, she was the Founder, CEO and Creative Director of Cresta Creative. For over 40 years she produced corporate and marketing communication and has literally hundreds of industry awards to her credit. She treasured the trusted relationships with her clients, many of which were sustained for decades.

Previously, she was the co-founder and president of The Creative Establishment, Inc., the nation’s largest corporate presentation agency at the time with offices in Chicago, New York City and San Francisco.

She was named New York YWCA Entrepreneur of the Year, NAWBO Entrepreneur of the Year, and Chair of the Illinois Delegation to the White House Conference on Small Business. She has been a member of The Committee of 200, The Economic Club of Chicago, the Chicago and Florida chapters of the International Women's Forum (IWF), the IWF International Board of Directors, The Chicago Network, Northwestern University Committee of 100, and The Court Theater at the University of Chicago Board of Directors.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, nana and leader and mentor to many.
