Obituary
Jeremy S. Goldberg, DDS, age 87, formerly of Highland Park and most recently a resident of the Sedgebrook Community in Lincolnshire. He was the beloved husband for 56 years of the late Eileen Goldberg, nee Buffens; loving father of Ken (Jennifer) Goldberg and Dr. Rob (Dr. Julie) Goldberg; adored Pappy of Jacob, Jonah, Zachary, Ella, Michael, and Nate; devoted son of the late Seymour and the late Ruth Goldberg; cherished twin brother of Dr. Joel (Karen) Goldberg and brother Bob (Dodie Weinstein) Goldberg; treasured uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Jeremy proudly served as a Captain in the United States Air Force while stationed in the Azores. He graduated from the University of Illinois, attended dental school at the University of Illinois at Chicago and then went on to practice dentistry for over 50 years. He was the true meaning of being a Mensch. He was a person of integrity and honor with all of the qualities one would hope for in a friend. His optimism and positive outlook on life inspired everyone he met. Jeremy taught us all to “Lead by Example” and “Do What You Love, Love What You Do.” He would use those exact words when giving life lessons to the grandkids. Jeremy was a devoted friend to many and when you talked with him, you felt you were part of his family.
Jeremy had many interests and enjoyed keeping his calendar full. He loved sports, being involved with the synagogue, going out to eat, driving his teal Thunderbird, and spending time with family and friends. His story telling was always fascinating and he had a way of putting you right there with him. He had a passion for life and if you ever had the pleasure of playing a game of pool or a round of golf with him, you were in for a challenge. His propensity for telling and making jokes were the definition of his personality. He was the master of dad jokes and we will carry on that tradition to the embarrassment of future Goldbergs.
Our family will never be the same without our Pappy and he will be missed every day but we have faith that he is dancing with Grammy and reuniting with lost friends and family.
