Obituary

Janice Rose Adams, 74, passed away on November 23, 2021; beloved wife and best friend of James for 23 years; loving mother of Dena (James) Ray and Cybil (Christopher) Meachem; cherished and most loved Nana of Charlie Meachem. Janice's world revolved around her adored grandson and she could not have been more proud to be a Nana. Janice worked for A. Block Mkt for over 30 years where she started as a bookkeeper and worked hard becoming the co-owner and CEO, a title that she held near and dear for 10 years until she retired. Janice started in an industry that was predominantly male and she became an award winning business owner who was very well regarded and respected by many in the landscaping industry, from competitors to colleagues alike. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern (www.cancer.northwestern.edu/about/donate-volunteer) would be greatly appreciated. Interment Randhill Park Cemetery. Chapel service, Friday, November 26, 2021, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home.
