James Stuart Rosenbaum, Almost 97.

Beloved husband of the late Janet Lee Rosenbaum. Beloved father of Judith Ann Rosenbaum of Evanston, Il., John Alan (Tracy) Rosenbaum of Trabuco Canyon, Ca. and Joan Lee Rosenbaum, M.D. of St. Louis, Mo.

Grandfather to 6 grandchildren: Benjamin Michael (Danielle) Lee, Brian David (Jennie) Rosenbaum, MIchael Alan (Brittany) Bosner, Daniel Jonathan Lee, Rabbi Sarah Elizabeth Rosenbaum Jones (Jeffrey Jones) and David Louis (Lauren) Bosner and Great-Grandfather to 10: Ariella Marie Bosner, Max Charles Bosner, Zachery James Bosner, Sydney Jane Bosner, Mia Drew Bosner, Samuel Aaron Lee, Sophie Janet Lee, Ezra Carey Rosenbaum, Alana Rosenbaum, and Adira Rosenbaum Jones.

A first generation American marine who served in World War II and fought at Guadalcanal, Pelelieu and Okinawa “Jimmy” was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Jimmy was a staunch defender of freedom and his family.

After graduating from Purdue University with a degree in metallurgy Jim decided to venture into the menswear business where he made friends wherever he went. Jimmy spent his later years as a Big Brother for Big Brothers of Chicago and was a philanthropist to numerous organizations mostly benefitting children.

A life long Cubs and Bear fan Jimmy finally got to see his dream come true when the Cubs won the World Series in 2016 and danced the night away with his love of 71 years, Janet.
