Obituary

Ivan P. Berk, age 88, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2025. Beloved husband of Shelly Berk (née Blitz); loving father of Ronnie (Toby Lee), Howard, Stacy, and Andrea (Craig) Siegler; cherished grandfather of Ethan (fiancée Sydney Tobias) Lee, Grace Lee, Ezra and Nathaniel Siegler, and Hannah Berk; much-loved brother of Susan Bercu (Ken Smith); and adored son of the late Ralph and Estelle Berk. Ivan was a treasured uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Fondly known as "Ivan the Great," he was a gifted hydraulic engineer, financial analyst, intellect, writer, poet, photographer, and reader. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Dr. Alan Kogan and Dr. Kenneth Grumet for their dedication and care over the years. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL.
