Obituary

Irene Rattner, 88, née Hollander, of Buffalo Grove, Illinois and Boca Raton, Florida, born July 18 1935 passed peacefully on November 14, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Donald E Rattner, happily married for 64 years; loving mother of Jeffrey and Mitchell Rattner; cherished and proud grandmother of Alana, Samuel, and Max Rattner and Meagan Hayes; dear sister of Rebecca Katz and sister in-law of the late Joel Rosenstein and Marshall Rattner; treasured aunt of Craig (Anne) Rosenstein, Joy Gould, Tracy, Mark and the late David Rattner and great aunt to Jamie, Seth and Justin and aunt to many others. She will be dearly missed by Harryette, Elaine, Marilyn, Rochelle and many extended family and friends. Irene had a giant sweet tooth, an even bigger heart, loved to shop for a bargain but most importantly loved spending time with her family and friends in Chicago and Florida.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Max and Helen Hollander. Irene was a past member of Maine Township Jewish Congregation in Des Plaines, devoted to Jewish causes and The State of Israel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Diabetes Association, www.diabetes.org and Friends of The Israeli Defense Forces, www.fidf.org. Chapel service Monday November 20, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
