Obituary

Ira P. Kopin, age 91, of Mundelein, beloved husband and best friend for nearly 30 years of Gayle (Diamond) Kopin; loving father of Michael (Suzan) Kopin, Richard (Kimberly) Kopin, and Karen (Brian) Sapp; cherished stepfather of Adam (Heather) Diamond; devoted grandfather of Max, Amy (Jeremy), Jennifer, Katie (Sammy), Madison, Megan, Collin, Madalyn, and Leora; adored great-grandfather of Noah, Ethan, Brayden, Caleb, Riley, Charlie, and Cody; proud son of the late Max and late Anna Kopin; fond brother of the late Sheldon (Dolly) Kopin and the late Albert (Myrna) Kopin; dear brother-in-law of Craig (Ellen) Mandel; treasured uncle and friend to many. Ira was a man who lived his life filled with relationships and love for his family, friends, and of course, food. As he said, “a stranger is just a friend you haven’t met yet.” He will be missed, but his stories will continue. Service Wednesday, August 7th, at 11:00 am CT, at Beth Tikvah Congregation, 300 Hillcrest Blvd, Hoffman Estates, IL 60169. The service will be livestreamed on Ira’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
