Obituary

Ina Gene Grodzin, née Gannon, Chaya Gittel bat Avraham, 85. She was the loving wife of the late Dr. Harvey Grodzin; grateful and loving mom to her outstanding sons Charles, Joshua (Beth), and Noah (Caroline); doting daughter of the late Charles and Abby Gannon; caring sister to Velma (Kenny) Sacks; loving aunt to many nephews and nieces; adoring Bubbie to her four grandchildren Cole, Mia, Zev, and Asher.
A true Chicago girl, Ina spent her time growing up on her stoop on Arthur Avenue just off Devon.
She also loved her Chicago sports, as she was a Bears and Cubs fan (her favorite player was Peanuts Lowery), and also a fan of Northwestern.
Ina was a passionate volunteer with many organizations as well as a docent at the Illinois Holocaust Museum.
She loved people, education, and volunteering, but top of the list was her family - the pride of her life.
She was a world traveler, avid reader, and lover of arts and music.
Ina was a very passionate and engaging person that always put others first and wanted the best for people. She will be deeply missed by all whose lives she touched.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center, www.ilholocaustmuseum.org. Funeral services will be private. For shiva information and to leave condolences for the family: www.shalommemorial.org, 847-255-3520.
