Obituary

Harvey Popolow, age 73 of Chicago, IL, loving husband of 35 years to Jill Hurwitz; doting father to Allison Popolow; devoted son of the late Herbert and the late Janice Popolow; cherished cousin of Helene Bizar and Alyce Rubinfeld (Jim Fox); son-in-law of Ruth Hurwitz and the late Alfred Hurwitz; brother-in-law of Larry Hurwitz (Elle Lipkind); uncle of Molly Hurwitz and Annie Hurwitz Saskin; loyal friend to many. Harvey brought his 13 years of brand marketing and promotions experience at PepsiCo to Chicago in 1992 in what he thought would be a two-year stint, and began a new career that included work at Unilever, Sears and other Fortune 100 companies. He found great satisfaction volunteering at Anshe Emet Synagogue, but his biggest joy was spending time with his family…and nothing could beat a good meal that he cooked and shared with others. Harvey passed away after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Service Monday, 10:00 a.m. at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3751 N. Broadway, Chicago. Interment Rosehill Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed on Harvey’s page at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated to the Parkinson’s Foundation; www.parkinson.org/midwest.
