Obituary

Harry Jay Melnick, DDS. Beloved husband of Hope June, nee Resnick. Loving father of Dr. Michael (Helen) Melnick, David (Judy) Melnick and Aaron (Jane) Melnick. Proud grandfather of Maddie, Brendan, Emily, Daniel, Patrick, Alex, Jacob, Haley and Adam. Dear brother of the late Helene (the late Morris) Schachne and late Dr. Rita (the late Samuel) Chafkin. Will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A practicing dentist in Morton Grove and Skokie for 47 years. Graduated from Case Western Reserve School of Dentistry. Interned at University of Chicago. Member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society and Chicago Dental Society. Past president of the North Side Branch of the Chicago Dental Society and served as one of its directors. Founder of the Illinois Foundation of dentistry for the Homebound. Past President, board member, and past “Rotarian of The Year” in 1992, of the Skokie Valley Rotary Club. Service Monday, June 13, 2022, 12 PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Rd.) Skokie. To attend the service livestream, please visit www.cjfinfo.com. Interment Shalom.
