Obituary

Harold Chabner, age 86, died peacefully on December 22, 2023; beloved father of Jeff (Hope) Shamberg, Rick Shamberg, and Gregg (Nancy) Shamberg, adored grandfather of Jake, Becky, Ari, Maya, Ben, Jesse, and Emmy; devoted son of the late Kalman and the late Luba Chabner; cherished brother of the late Bernard (Joyce) Chabner; dear uncle of Howard (Michele DeSha) Chabner and Barbara (Marshal Datkowitz) Chabner; treasured great uncle and friend of many. Family was central to Harold, and he will be deeply missed by his loving family. Graveside service Sunday, December 24th 10:00 a.m. CT at Waldheim Cemetery, Gate 282, 1700 S. Harlem Ave., North Riverside, IL. The service will be livestreamed on Harold’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Israel Emergency Fund of the Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org/IsraelEmergencyFund/ or Congregation Beth Shalom, www.bethshalomnb.org.
