Obituary

Fred Peckler, 93, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband and best friend of Renee (née Schwarcz) for nearly 72 wonderful years; loving father of Larry (Debbie) Peckler and Wendy (Marc) Denenberg; cherished "Papa" of Marc Peckler, Adam (Ashlee) Epstein, Rachel (Jeffrey) Casser, and Bryan (Stephanie) Epstein; adored great-grandfather of Asher, Oliver, Levi, Mason, and Jackson Epstein, and Bella Casser. He was the devoted son of the late Morris and Helen Peckler; much-loved brother of the late Harriet (the late Sol) Gomberg; dear son in-law of the late Gilbert and Yetta Schwarcz; fond brother-in-law of Sue (Jerry) Goldberg; and a treasured uncle, great-uncle, and friend to many. Fred was a dedicated and hardworking businessman who successfully operated a transportation company for many years. Generous, loving, and always willing to lend a helping hand, he had a natural gift for all things mechanical and could fix just about anything. A devoted family man, Fred took great pride in raising his children and, in later years, enjoyed traveling the world with his beloved Renee. He loved to cook and savor a good meal, but his proudest and happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his adored grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fred was a proud member of B'nai B'rith and will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched. Memorial donations in Fred's name may be made to the American Cancer Society www.cancer.org or the American Heart Association, www.heart.org. Chapel service, Wednesday, February 25, 2026; 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park.
