Obituary

Eleanor Goodman, nee Waxman, an amazing and age-defying 102 years old, of Chicago, beloved wife of the late Hyman Goodman; loving mother of Linda (Voorhees Mount) Goodman, Karen (Greg) Minter, and the late Marsha Evaskus; adored Granma and Nana of Jenny (Jacques), Leta (fiancée Paola), Dylan (fiancée Luli), and Jack; proud great grandmother of Nikko; devoted daughter of the late Benjamin and the late Minnie Waxman; cherished sister of the late Bessie (late Nathan) Eisenberg and the late Marshall Waxman; treasured aunt of Michael (Dale) Elkins, Steven (Colleen) Elkins, Marshall (JoAnn) Eisenberg, Rick Eisenberg, and the late Burton Eisenberg; special great aunt of Paul and Brett; beloved aunt, cousin, and friend to many others. A special thank you to Michelle Weisberg for her extraordinary friendship. A first-generation American, Eleanor was modern and innovative, in ways large and small. She was a force of nature; Eleanor's positive and loving energy impacted everyone she met. She enjoyed engaging people and making everyone feel loved and truly seen. Always the life of the party, we would be remiss if we did not mention Eleanor’s superior poker skills. Service Thursday, 10:00 a.m. CT at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). The service will be livestreamed on Eleanor’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Interment Waldheim Cemetery.
