Obituary
Dr. Eduardo Nijensohn
Beloved Physician, Radiologist, and Tango Singer
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. Eduardo Nijensohn, who died on Friday, February 27, 2026, surrounded by love after a life devoted to family, service, and music. A respected physician and neuroradiologist for more than five decades, Eduardo graduated from the University of Buenos Aires in 1967 and practiced in Chicago, where he was widely admired for his compassion, skill, and dedication to his patients.
Beyond medicine, Eduardo was deeply passionate about tango, an art form that connected him to his roots and brought joy to many. Whether healing through medicine or expressing himself through music, he shared his talents generously and touched countless lives.
Eduardo is survived by his wife of 57 years, Adriana; his sons, Paul and Eric; his daughters in law, Lindsay and Nicolette; and his cherished grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride. He is also survived by his sister, Alicia, and extended family in Argentina and around the world. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
We remember Eduardo for his warmth, humor, and humanity, and for a life lived with purpose and heart. A service to celebrate his life will be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to honor his memory by sharing a tango, a kindness, or a moment of joy with someone you love.
May his memory be of a blessing.
