Obituary

Diane E. Horwitz, nee Rowe, 75. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Dr. Allen Horwitz, for 31 wonderful years; devoted daughter of the late Sydell and Sam Rowe; dear sister of Edward (Judith) Rowe; loving sister-in-law of Mark (Roselyn) Horwitz, Gary (Jean) Horwitz, and Miriam Horwitz; treasured aunt, cousin, and friend of many. Diane held both an undergraduate degree in education and a master's degree in education and reading development from the National College of Education in Evanston, Illinois. She worked as a teacher for many years before meeting her soulmate, Allen. Diane tirelessly advocated for the State of Israel and was a proud member of AIPAC and StandWithUs. Diane and Allen held season tickets to and enjoyed many theater, music, and opera venues in the Chicago area. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Israel Emergency Fund at the Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org/IsraelEmergencyFund/ and the American Heart Association, www.heart.org. Graveside service Wednesday, Dec. 27, 11 AM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
