April 1st, 2026

Obituary

David Sklansky, age 75, of Wheeling, beloved son of the late Marvin and the late Rochelle Sklansky; loving brother of Janet (Dr. Michael) Jordan; cherished uncle of Melissa (Joe) Giordano, Kevin (Erin) Chankin, and Daniel (Vered) Chankin; treasured great uncle of Ashley, Madison, and Mason. David was a very sweet and unique man. He had a strong love for his family, which was pure and innocent. David had a special bond with his sister, his one sibling, who took over the job of managing his well-being when their parents could not. Throughout his life he had her loving kindness.

From his career at Bantam Books as a warehouseman, he developed a love for books and for the written word. He organized a very large collection of books in his home and enjoyed writing in his diary every day. David is mourned by the family and caregivers to whom he meant so much.
