Obituary

Darren M. Perkell, 49, January 19, 2023; loving father of AJ, Mia and Ethan; cherished son of the late Arthur Perkel and Alyne (Bert) Poliakoff; much loved brother of Alan (Onida) Perkel and uncle of Aidan and Bree Iliana Perkel; loved nephew of David (Jeanne) Zimmerman, Gordon (Rona) Perkel and the late Frank Zimmerman; dear grandson of the late Ben and Bertha Zimmerman and the late Sol and Ida Perkel; adored cousin of Aaron Zimmerman, Laura (Mike) Moran, Torey Zimmerman, Jake Zimmerman, Sean Zimmerman, Brian Perkel and Alyssa (Mike) Clohessey. Darren worked as the Vice President of Fidelity National Title, where his insurance focus was on commercial, mixed use and multi-family properties. Prior to his work in insurance, Darren worked as a cameraman shooting commercials, television and film. He had a true passion for photography and film, an alumni of Emerson College where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, a big supporter of Chashama where he most recently was honored to serve on their Board of Directors. Darren was a treasured friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his faithful companion Sababa. Memorial donations in his memory made to Chashama, www.chashama.org or the Arizona Humane Society, www.azhumane.org/donate would be greatly appreciated. Chapel service, Friday, January 27, 2023, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights, IL. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
