Claire L. Stern nee Lugassy, 97, beloved wife of the late Burton; loving mother of Michael Stern, Dr. Sheldon Stern (Rabbi Marla Hornsten), Dr. Rachel Stern (Dr. Marc Bruell) and Judy (Jay) Nachowitz; cherished grandma of Danielle, Erica (Ab), Lilly, Jessica, Jordan, Michael Jacques, Elliott, Alyssa (Kevin), Benji and Danny; devoted daughter of the late Rachel, Ruby and Jacques Lugassy; dear sister of her twin sister Suzy (the late Albert) Lugassy, Irene Lugassy (the late Robert Frye) and the late Leon (the late Arlette) Lugassy; treasured aunt, cousin and friend of many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Israel Rabbi Marla Hornsten End Racism Fund at www.temple-israel.org/tributes or to a charity of your choice. Chapel service Wednesday 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park.
