Obituary

Charles Schwartz, beloved husband of Diane nee Landinguin for 49 years, loving father of Rebecca (Ira) Lasky, Dan (Cathy) Leman, Guy Warner and Bruce (Marybeth) Warner and daughter-in-law Debbie Nelson. Loving brother-in-law of Eileen DeFrenza. Treasured grandfather to Spencer (Kate), Dustin (Leah), Zoe, Brandon and Sheridan (Sam), Joshua and proud great-grandfather of Will, Charlie, Sammy, Gigi and Bennett. Preceded in death by his parents Nathan and Gertrude Schwartz and his sisters, Sondra Bailey and Penny (Brian) Kahan. He will be fondly remembered by nephews and niece, Dan (Claire) Fuhrman, Noah (Karina) Fuhrman, Jackie (Avery) Delott, Neal Ornoff. Chuck retired from a 30 year career with Gateway Foundation starting as a counselor then as a Vice President, helping people recover from drug addiction. He will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, his ability to listen and be there for his friends and family and his positive outlook on life. He loved collecting watches, canes and knives, attending collector shows and flea markets every chance he got. He loved motorcycles, cowboy boots and his fedoras. Most of all he loved his family and friends. Service Tuesday 10:00AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road) Skokie. Interment is private.
