Obituary

Charlene Wallach, nee Cohen, 94. Beloved wife for 61 years to the late Herbert; devoted mother of Marla (Joe) Cotteleer, Denise (Bob) Kiss, and the late Larry Wallach; treasured Grandma "Beautiful" of Alex Kiss, Kali (Adam) Parker, Kori Cotteleer (fiancé Connor Kern), Kyle Cotteleer (fiancée Sarell Diamond), and Samantha Kiss; proud great-grandmother of Wesley Joseph Parker; dear sister of the late Herbert Cohen; loving aunt of Lee Wallach, Laurie (Dean) Projansky, Penny (Ric) Hawthorne, David (Maria) Wallach, Michael Cohen, Mark Cohen, and the late Pamela Wallach. Charlene's family would like to thank Barbara Trudell for her dedicated, compassionate care. Charlene was a one-of-a-kind, rock-and-roll loving Grandma. She liked her meals hot and her jewelry sparkly! She was an avid reader, kept her mind sharp by using her iPad, playing electronic poker, and discussing politics with anyone who would partake. She had a great sense of humor and zest for life - she will be deeply missed by all, especially her family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jewish National Fund, www.jnf.org. Chapel service Tuesday, July 8, 12:15 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights. Entombment to follow at Shalom Memorial Park. For more information and to leave condolences: www.shalommemorial.org, 847-255-3520.
