Obituary

Betty "BGE" Eaton nee Goodman, 95, beloved wife of the late Kenneth; loving mother of Richard (Nancy) Eaton and Carole (Russ) VanderWilde; cherished grandma of Kendra (Travis) Laine, Axel Eaton, Calli VanderWilde, Allegra VanderWilde and Bailey VanderWilde; dear sister of the late Rochelle Freifeld, Miriam Perlman and Alvin Goodman; treasured Aunt Betty of Bruce, Cathy, Kim, Scott, Judy, Susan, Sheri and their families; adored cousin and friend of many.
Betty was a dedicated counselor, teacher, educational therapist and administrator. She was a proud advocate for her community. Sitting on numerous boards; the Evanston League of Women Voters, Professionals in Learning Disabilities, Evanston Art Center, the Illinois Parent Teachers Association, Stories on Stage and Streeterville Organization of Active Residence (SOAR), where Betty was always helping others learn to speak for themselves. Betty was named one of Crane's 100 Women Making A Difference In Chicago. Her passion was her community but her greatest love was her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jewish United Fund at www.juf.org. Graveside service Thursday 2:00 PM at Shalom Memorial Park, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights.
