Obituary

Betty-Ann Vishny, nee Langer, long-time resident of Lincolnwood, loving mother of Robert (Keren), Daniel, and Michael (Natalie) Vishny; adored Grammy of Max, Joey (Natalie), Benjamin, Hanna (Evan), Blake, and David; proud great grandmother of Violet; devoted daughter of the late Fanny and Max Langer; cherished sister of the late Seymour (late Lois) Langer; treasured aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend to many. Betty-Ann was well-respected in her community. She was a beloved substitute teacher in Lincolnwood schools and a long serving Executive Director of Moriah Congregation in Deerfield.  Later in life, she served on the board of directors of the Barclay Place condominium association, retiring as Vice-President at the age of 88.  Betty-Ann was also an avid Canasta player and taught many others how to play. She was a gifted teacher and mentor, and a fiercely loyal friend. Service Sunday, 10:00 a.m. CT at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated to Hadassah, Ketura Chapter, 900 Skokie Blvd. Suite 295, Northbrook, IL 60062, www.hadassahmidwest.org/donate or the Anti-Defamation League (ADL), www.adl.org.
