Obituary
Bette L. Rankin, of Pikesville, MD, passed away on Thursday, October 28th, 2021 at the age of 98. She is survived by her beloved children, Carole (Tony) Frank, Nanci Rankin, Barbara Hucht, Andrew (Deborah) Rankin, and Sherri (Craig) Campeggi; grandchildren, Mandi Silberman (Brian) Mielke, Kristin Hucht, Jordan (Ashley) Hucht, Christopher (Rachel) Campeggi, Julie (Charlotte) Campeggi, and Christopher (Amie) Rankin; and great grandchildren, Sam, Jack, Cameron, Harper, Emersyn, Remington, Connor, Caden, and Colby. She was predeceased by her siblings, Sylvia Michaelson, Miriam Blank, Nettie Patchen, Maynard Bernstein, and Ellis Bernstein; and parents, Sarah and Samuel Bernstein.
Throughout her life, Bette had a passion for many things. Adventure, travel and most importantly, her family. She seized life every day and lived it with gusto. From her early days as a singer on local radio, through her time as an Administrative Assistant for Lasting Paints and finally as an award winning realtor, Bette LIVED life. She loved travelling to Florida each year as well as taking cruises to the Caribbean, her favorite travel destination. She also volunteered for many years at Northwest Hospital, bringing her strong, supportive personality to the role so that those in crisis could benefit. As much as she loved all of these things, nothing brought her greater joy than her family. Her love for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren was unprecedented. She was driven to insure that everyone felt loved and needed.
Services at Sol Levinson's Chapel, 8900 Reisterstown Road, Pikesville, MD, 21208, on Sunday, October 31st, 2021 at 1pm. Interment Har Sinai Cemetery, Garrison Forest Road. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to the Jewish charity of your choice. The family will be in mourning at 3075 Carrollton Road, Finksburg, MD, 21048, immediately following services Sunday only.
