Obituary

Arthur L. Klein, 85. Beloved husband of Estelle (Essy), nee Kuklin; devoted father of Andrew Klein (Diane Schussel), Peter (Stephanie) Klein, and Beth (Doug) Shabelman; loving stepfather of Joanna Reuben; proud grandfather of Tim and Jason Klein, Mikaela and Olivia Klein, and Anna and Sloane Shabelman; caring son of the late Ben and Ann Klein; fond uncle and cousin of many. In addition, Art very much appreciated the friendship and support he received from Sandy Crabbe. Art was a graduate of the Northwestern University School of Law. He spent his career with the law firm of Arnstein and Lehr (today Saul Ewing LLP) in Chicago. He was a litigator and became one of the city's leading appellate lawyers. Art chaired the firm's hiring committee for many years and was especially proud to be a mentor to generations of attorneys. Art was an avid reader, history buff, and Chicago sports fan, but nothing gave him greater joy than spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren who equally enjoyed spending time with their "Pa Art." He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cubs Charities Community Fund, https://www.mlb.com/cubs/community/cubs-charities/community-fund, University of Wisconsin Humorology, https://humorology.crowdchange.co/35555, or the American Lung Association, www.lung.org. Chapel service Friday, 10 AM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
