Obituary

Arthur Bobis, 88. Beloved husband for 64 wonderful years to the late Shirley (nee Ominsky); devoted father of Lori Schwartz, Lisa Lowenthal, and the late Marc (Michelle) Bobis; cherished grandpa of Max, Sophie and Jack Schwartz and Sarah and Nathaniel Lowenthal; caring former father-in-law of Todd Jay Schwartz and Steven Lowenthal; treasured friend of many. Arthur was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. He went to Columbia for his undergraduate degree, earned his Masters from Penn State and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology. He moved to Northbrook in 1970 to pursue his career as President of Spacemaster RHC, where he was respected for over 30 years. Art was a model train enthusiast, lover and performer of musical theater, avid tennis player, expert at New York Times crossword puzzles, reader, and big Knickerbocker fan. He will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. Chapel service Wednesday, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd, Arlington Heights.
