In Loving Memory of

Aron Alter

Obituary

Aron Alter, age 91, was a radio and electrical engineer in the Soviet Union. He developed a secure radio communication method using frequency manipulation and authored or co-authored over 100 patents. Beyond his work, he was a dedicated father and husband, taking his family on adventures hiking and camping. He lived through World War II, surviving the Holocaust. Later, he immigrated to the United States in his 60s, joining much of his family and forging the way for the rest to follow. Aron was always vibrant, brightening a room with his comedic timing and bold echoing laugh. He always found a way to connect and share stories and never lost his passion for technology. He quickly adapted to the Internet, learned how to correspond via email and continued to share news and stories with his family and friends. His inquisitive spirit and loving nature lives on in his large family extending for generations: Husband of Lina Tarnes-Alter. Loving father of Lia (Anatoly) Arber and Michael (Ekaterina) Alter and stepfather of Nona (Bruce) Lisitza. Proud grandfather of Natasha (Misha) Koshev, Masha (Sasha) Bodik, Anastasia Alter, Alena Cozuc, Leon (Leigh) Arber, Nataly Arber and Jacob Arber. Cherished great grandfather of Emily, Alice, Nicole, and Anna Koshevatskiy, Ronald, Benjamin, Diana, and Sam Bodik, Anika Urbonas, Eleanor, Illeana and Elijah Cozuc, Vera and Daphne Arber.
