Alvin Becker, age 86, of Chicago, IL, peacefully passed away on November 30, 2024; beloved husband of the late Sheila Becker, nee Pianko; adored mother of Stacey (Scott) Kaniewski, Marcey (Robert Brody) Becker, and Brian (Ellyn) Becker; loving Papa of Connor (fiancée Amy Pfeffer) and Liza Kaniewski, Joel and Ethan Brody, Rylee and Ilyssa Becker; devoted son of the late Max and the late Rose Becker; cherished brother of the late Lawrence (late Mae) Becker; dear brother-in-law of the late Judy (late Irving) Hefter and treasured uncle and friend to many.

Alvin grew up in Chicago and attended the University of Illinois, where he met the love of his life Sheila Pianko. They married in 1961 while he was attending law school at the University of Chicago, after which they moved to East Lansing, Michigan to pursue his MBA at Michigan State. Upon graduation, they returned to Chicago where he embarked on a thirty-five plus-year banking career that took him to Springfield, IL where they raised their three children, finishing his career in Rockford, IL. He felt strongly about giving back to his community, serving on many boards including United Way, Springfield Memorial Medical Center, Rockford Health System, and the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples in Florida.
