Obituary

Allyn Deana Rothbard, nee Klivans died February 29th, 2024 at her home in Oak Park, Illinois. Beloved wife for 25 years of the late Lt. Col. Ret. Leonard Rothbard; loving mother of Robin (Alan Ziebarth) Rothbard, Bruce (Michele) Rothbard, and the late Lawrence “Larry” Rothbard; proud grandmother of Christopher (fiancé Nina Garcia) Anderson, Ashley (Aminn) Ellis, Jennifer Rothbard, Jonathan Ziebarth, and Emily Rothbard; adored great-grandmother of Kyson, Daxton, Aiden, Eleah, Cohen, and Isabella; dear sister of the late Charles (late Theresa, late Mayrene) Klivans; cherished daughter of the late Martin and late Rella Klivans. She lived most of her life in the Chicago area but enjoyed about 20 years in Las Vegas later in life. She loved fishing and birding and made beautiful hook rugs and cross stitching and other crafts. She followed many sports avidly. She cared for 20 foster children. She learned to drive after the age of 50 and then had many years of happy cross country driving. She was a proud graduate of University of Chicago. Memorial Service Tuesday, 1 p.m. CT, at Oak Park Temple, 1235 N Harlem Ave, Oak Park, IL 60302. Interment to take place at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery next to her late husband Leonard. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to National Audubon Society, www.audubon.org.
