Obituary
Allen Sorkin, 85, beloved husband of Lois for 61 wonderful years; loving father of Randy and Barry (Lisa); cherished grandpa of Zach, Ella, and Matthew; uncle and great uncle of Toby, Mark, Jaquie, and Michael; son of the late Louis and Beatrice. Allen was born in Chicago in 1938. He did his undergraduate work at University of Illinois, where he met the love of his life Lois, whom he married in 1961. He completed his graduate studies at Illinois Institute of Technology, where he received a Masters Degree in statistics and research psychology. He had a long and distinguished career as co-founder and president of Sorkin Enenstein Reseach Services (SERS), where he gained prominence as an innovator and thought leader in the field of quantitative and qualitative market research and performed large-scale studies for some of the world's largest and most prestigious companies. The only thing Allen loved more than his work was his family. He was first and foremost a family man, willing and eager to make any sacrifice for those he loved and willing to put virtually anything aside to spend time with his wife, his children, and especially his grandchildren. He will be remembered very dearly as a constant source of unconditional love by those with whom he generously shared his life.
