Obituary
Alex Jacobson, 72, adored son of the late Sam and Lola Jacobson; beloved husband of Debbie Jacobson, née Velick, happily married for 38 years; loving father of Sara Bailey (Daniel Swails) Jacobson, Sam Jacobson, and Rachael (Patrick) Jones; cherished Grandpa Alex of Lola Swails-Jacobson; dear brother of Terry (Morrene) Jacobson, much loved by his fur baby Elizabeth "Lizzy" Taylor; Alex was a treasured uncle, cousin and friend to many. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Kathy, Mira and Ursula from Guardian Home Health Care for their care and dedication to Alex. Alex traveled the world, creating bonds with people across the globe. His love of shopping and eating was always in full force. He spent countless hours with his family on trips to Disney creating memories we will all cherish forever. Alex's love of watches and the study of time will continue to be passed down to future generations. His passion for all things automotive and the adventures to car meets will always be with us. Alex was a shining light for all of those around him and will be loved forever.
Alex was part of the Exitos Global Capital Group, the Chicago Stock Exchange and a Vice President for OptionsXpress. His time at the International Securities Exchange as a Vice President for Education lasted over 10 years. Alex worked at the CBOE from 1985-2000 with his most recent role being the Vice President of Business Development. He was a big part of the brokerage community and was involved in the growth of the Options Industry Council. Prior to that, Alex worked at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner and Smith, Inc.
Alex has an M.B.A in Finance from DePaul University and a B.S in Finance from the University of Illinois.
