Obituary

Alan A. Lipson, 102, adored son of the late William and the late Rebecca Lipson; beloved husband of the late Margaret Lipson, happily married for 52 years; loving father of Karen (the late Michael) Maccione, Bryan Lipson, Wayne (Ruth Dunning) Lipson, Kim (John) Pollock and Sharon (Brian) Hamlin; cherished grandfather of Daniel Maccione, Alex Lipson, Jonah and Jake Pollock and Adam Hamlin; Preceded in death by his siblings Shirley Reis, Edward and Sam Lipson. Alan was an artist who studied at the exclusive Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He created iconic advertising art including Charlie the Tuna, Tony the Tiger and the Marlboro Man. He also supported the performing arts with his love of the Lyric Opera. Alan proudly served in WWII. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Chapel service Mon, Feb 26, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Entombment follows at Shalom Memorial Park, Beth Shearim Mausoleum.
