Obituary

Alan Larry Balter, PhD, age 86, died June 1st after a long serious illness. He was a spark of life and known for his great sense of humor. He always kept his 14 grandkids entertained. He was a college professor for 33 years.  He then became a published author. Alan is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 41 years, Barbara Amdur Balter, his treasured sister Abby (Larry) Block, his two doting children, Liz (Cole Stremmel) Balter McNamara and Tony (Lisa) Balter and four adoring bonus kids, Tripp (Chia Huei) Amdur, Jennifer (Jeff Spitz) Amdur- Spitz, Daniel Amdur and Nancy (Robert Preskill) Amdur.  Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, June 5th at 10 a.m. CT at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd. Skokie. (at Niles Center Rd.). Alan’s service will be livestreamed at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.
