Obituary

Lewis Gutterman, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2022 after complications from surgery in New York City. To those who knew him,Lewis was a tall blue-eyed man, a kind and friendly person to his friends and loved ones. He grew up in the Bronx and later moved to Westchester as a teenager where he attended Woodlands High School. He pursued the Culinary Arts program at SUNY Sullivan County, but never pursued it as a career. He owned and operated Ere n Aft, a gift store in Nyack for more than 30 years. Lewis was also a devoted volunteer at the Bronx Zoo for more than 25 years. He also loved to garden and draw. He especially enjoyed being a member of the NYC Urban Sketchers Group where he took photos to document their events and drew portraits for certain sketchers with whom he had developed a special relationship and bond. He was well-liked among the group. A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 12noon at Ferncliff Cemetery.
