Obituary

Rydelle “Cookie” Shevin, nee Siegler, age 91, of Scottsdale, AZ, formerly of Lincolnshire, Skokie, and raised her family in Morton Grove; beloved wife of the late Richard Weisbaum, late Jack Shevin, and long-time companion of the late Ed Kalleck; loving mother of Gary (Sheri) Weisbaum, David (Sunny) Weisbaum, and Steven (Carrie) Weisbaum; adored grandmother of Michael (Lauren) Weisbaum, Brian (Lacey) Weisbaum, Michelle (Erin) Wright, Teri (Jason) Shuck, Dana (Jeff) Watson, Eric Weisbaum, and Amy Weisbaum; proud great grandmother of Ethan, Gabriel, Max, Caleb, Ivy, and Noah Weisbaum, Maz Wright, and Jacob Shuck; devoted daughter of the late Norbert and the late Anne Siegler; dear sister of the late Gerald (Carol) Siegler and the late Lynn (Jeri) Siegler; treasured aunt, cousin, and friend to many. From a quiet life as the wife of an electrician on the South Side of Chicago to the big move to Morton Grove, Cookie was a busy wife to Richard and mother to Gary, David, and Steven. Following Richard's death in 1971, she met Jack Shevin, a widower from Skokie and the two of them traveled to world together for over twenty years. After Jack died, Cookie found a high school friend, Ed Kallick, and the two spent the rest of their lives together in Arizona. 

Graveside service Monday, February 10th, at 11:00 a.m. CT will be private. Cookie’s service will be livestreamed on her webpage, www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. In lieu of flowers, contribution would be appreciated to Type 1 Diabetes-Breakthrough T1D, www.breakthrought1d.org or Hadassah Chicago-North Shore, www.hadassah.org.
