Obituary

Robin Sue Harris, age 68, a proud Southsider and lifelong resident of Chicagoland, passed away at her home on January 5, 2023. Remembered for her beautiful smile and helpful to everyone, Robin made friends as a banker, and in executive secretarial positions at the Jewish Community Center in Skokie and Niles High School District 219. Robin enjoyed singing and participated in choirs in Skokie and musical reviews at Temple Judea Mitzpah.  Robin met her husband of 19 years, Mark Michaels, through a joint email from a friend followed by lots of hours on AOL Instant Messager. Loving mother of Daniel Yanoff (Julin Zhu Xiaoli) and step mother to Elyse (Steven) Moore and Joshua Michaels. Grandmother to Jackson and Taylor Moore and Leilani Yanoff. Robin was preceded in death by her parents, Ilene (nee Aronson) and Raymond, and her sister. Sandra. She is survived by her brothers Richard and Steve.   

Memorial service, Monday, January 16th, 2:00 p.m., at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). The service will be livestreamed on Robin’s webpage at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com.  

A shiva will be held immediately following the service until 8:00 pm and on Tuesday January 17th from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at her brother Richard’s home at 1127 Mulford St, Evanston, IL. 

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that donations be made to The Clayco Foundation (via rvcl.org), which funds research in the rare genetic disease that afflicted Robin and her mother, or Planned Parenthood.
