Obituary
Perry S. Gerber, age 90, resident of Tamarisk North Shore, in Deerfield, formerly of Skokie; respected and dedicated pharmacist and co-owned Orange Drugs, in Schiller Park for over 35 years. As a business owner, Perry went out of his way to serve the community and be there for his customers, even after store hours. He was the beloved husband and best friend for almost 70 years of Phyllis Gerber, nee Robinson; loving father of Debbie (Jay) Lipkin, Wendy (Alan) Price, and Howard (Katie) Gerber; adored Pa and Grandpa of Robby Lipkin, Brad (Marti) Lipkin, and Ilana Price; Papa 2 of Myles and Gemma; devoted son of the late Albert and the late Elsie Gerber; cherished brother of Ruth Ann (Barbara Welker) Miller; dear brother-in-law of the late Marvin (late Phyllis) Robinson, and the late Fred (late Ina) Robinson; treasured uncle of Susan, Edwin, and the late Lewis. Perry was lovingly cared for by Simon. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, he enjoyed family vacations, cruises, and fishing in Canada and Michigan. He treated his family to Sunday night dinners and made sure they had everything they needed. He also was a talented handyman who enjoyed fixing things around their home. Perry had a legendary train set and village that his grandchildren fondly remember.
Service Monday, 12 Noon CT, at The Chapel, 8851 Skokie Blvd., Skokie (at Niles Center Rd.). Interment Memorial Park.
