Obituary

Sheila Slakter (nee Papernick) 90, loving wife of 66 years to the late Norman Slakter and cherished mother to Ellen, Mark (Nancy) and Judi (Steve), passed away peacefully Wednesday 5/5/21 in Scottsdale, AZ. Born and raised in Toronto Canada to Henry and Rose Papernick, where she grew up with her brother Bernie and sister Joyce, and where she met her husband Norman. Sheila was also a loving Aunt to her nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many.

Sheila and Norman married in 1953 and soon after moved to the Chicago area where they raised their children and flourished as U.S. citizens. Sheila and Norman moved to Scottsdale, AZ in 1995. Sheila had a special gift for making people laugh and performed in comedy shows for many years as "Showbiz Sheila". To keep everyone safe and healthy, the interment service will be private. A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at 12:30 PM. To attend the funeral live stream, please visit our website.
