Obituary

Mitchell Weisner, age 92, of Chicago, Founder and President of Design Galleries, provided architectural and commercial lighting for builders and interior designers since 1957; he honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; beloved husband, best friend, soulmate of Roberta “Bobbi”, nee Brotman, they truly were a storybook couple; loving father of Jami Brenner, Lisa (Steven) Kaufman, and Carri (late Todd Feldman) Goodman; adored Papa of Eric Kaufman, Zachary (Jessica) Kaufman, Joey Goodman, Stevi (fiancé Ryan Farrar) Goodman, and Jordan Brenner; devoted son of the late Albert and the late Dena Weisner; cherished son-in-law of the late Oscar and the late Esther Brotman; dear brother-in-law of Barbara (Larry) Cohn; treasured uncle of Jodi (Keith) Zobott, Laura (Scott) Kaufman, and Debbie (Gregg) Stern and their children. Mitch was one of a kind; he was the most affectionate, sweetest, and kindest person. He lit up the lives of everyone who knew him, with his expressive smile and caring nature. Mitch was an accomplished tennis player and Chicago sports enthusiast, but his family gave him the most amount of joy. He will be so dearly missed. The service and shiva will be private.
