In Loving Memory of

Ted Barkow

Obituary

Ted “Teddy” Barkow, age 83, passed away on December 26, 2020, in Alhambra, CA, ending his long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease. Born on March 4, 1937, in Chicago, IL, he was a Chicagoan to the bone and in his heart and soul. Ted loved to play golf, root for his beloved White Sox (and saw them win the 2005 World Series, the first two games in person!) and Bulls, discover new restaurants, laugh, and above all else, spend time with his family. He had an intense zest for life, was an entertainer, and was the life of every room. He worked hard and took pride in the company he established and ran, Albar Products, Inc., in Chicago and later Park Ridge, for decades. He is survived by his children, Allison (Saviano) and Tony, and his grandchildren, Declan and Elena Saviano and Nate Barkow, who all knew him as Poppy, and by his brother, Alvin Barkow. He was predeceased by his wife, Barbara, his parents Harry and Gussie (Strinel) Barkow, and his brother William Barkow. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, January 10th, 2021 at 11:00 AM (CST) to attend via live stream, please visit our website.
