Dr. Manuel "Manny" Silverman, 81
Retired Professor of Counseling Psychology in the School of Education at Loyola University Chicago. Loving father of Joshua (Tracy Fisher) Silverman and Daniel (Alma) Silverman. Proud grandfather of Max and Miles Silverman, Tricia and Alver Terenso. Friend of former wife Sharon Silverman. Fond uncle of Rebecca Hughes and Ryan Taylor. He is remembered by his sons as being a very loving and caring father. Many friends and grateful students appreciated his sense of humor and compassion. His life was filled with many pleasures including sailing out of Wilmette Harbor, sharing his love of skiing with anyone willing to learn and conversing with friends at his favorite tobacco shops. His love of pipes and cigars was always a source of enjoyment. He made many contributions to the field of psychology and cared for individuals with mental health needs. Memorial Service, Sunday 11 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road) Skokie. Interment private.
