Obituary

Valerie Dawn Pechter, 57, passed away on November 29, 2017, in Sharon Hill, Pennsylvania. Valerie was born on January 4, 1960, to the late Sylvia Pechter and grew up in Springfield, Delaware County. She graduated from Springfield High School and attended Delaware County Community College (DCCC) before working for KYW/CBS Channel 3 News. 

Valerie is survived by her devoted husband and best friend of 40 years, Richard Dunn; her sisters, Tina, Bonnie, Stacie and Alison; her aunt, Nancy; and her nieces and nephews, Erika, Melissa, David, and Jeremy. She was preceded in death by her grandmother Rose; mother, Sylvia; brother, Lance; niece, Jennifer; and nephew, Jason.  

Although Val fought a hard, lifelong battle with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), her love for music, animals, and her family helped her face each day with courage and strength.

A private funeral will be held on December 7, 2017, at the New Montefiore Cemetery, 1180 Wellwood Avenue in West Babylon, New York. Flowers should be sent to the Star of David Funeral Home, 1236 Wellwood Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704.
