Obituary

William R. Harris, age 75.

Retired Captain and 29 year U.S. Navy veteran. Graduate of Annapolis and MIT, Vietnam veteran, and submarine engineering officer. Captain Harris was active in the North Shore post of the Jewish War Veterans. His work helping other veterans prepare and film oral histories of their service was recognized with a special recommendation by the mayor of Highland Park. Retired Vice President of MFRI Perma-Pipe, Niles, IL. Beloved husband of Nan Lorraine Harris nee Gibbs. Loving father of Gregory Harris, Dr. David (Cheryl) Harris and Brenna Switzer. Dear grandfather of Elliot, Ari, Benjamin and Eilah. Cherished brother of Dr. Roger (Linda) Harris, Rachel (Bob) McCoy and Hope Harris. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to Jewish War Veterans, Post 29, PO Box 291, Highland Park, IL 60035, or MPN Research Fdn, 180 N Michigan Ave, Suite 1870, Chicago, IL, 60601 would be appreciated.
