Obituary

Vivian S. Kaplan, age 97, of Evanston, IL. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Sidney J. Kaplan. Dear sister of Ruth Weiss, Loving Aunt of Marsha Richardson (Bill Hatton) and nephew Laury Weiss, and many great nieces, nephews, and their children, as well as her stepchildren Mary Kaplan Mages, (Lawrence Mages) and the late William B. Kaplan (the late Diane Pearson), and grandchildren Elizabeth Mages (Chris Van Den Berg) and Erica Kaplan Isaac (Alex Isaac). Beloved bubbie to three great grandchildren, Sasha and Lenny Van Den Berg, and Sydnie Isaac. She was passionate about her profession as a clinical psychologist and was chief psychologist at Los Angeles Children’s Hospital until she met Sidney Kaplan in 1966 and moved to Highland Park, Illinois, where she established a private practice. She loved throwing dinner parties full of food and friends, art, music, opera, and literature, and traveling the world with her husband. Celebration of her life to be held when all are safe to gather.
