In Loving Memory of

Thelma Spill

February 28th, 2022

Obituary

It is with infinite sadness that we announce the passing of Thelma Spill, age 89, on February 28, 2022; she passed peacefully and without pain. Born on June 5, 1932, to Eleanor and Leo Fisch in the Bronx, she married Morton Spill in 1956 and moved to New Jersey. She moved to Chicago in 2000 and has been a staple at Imperial Towers on North Marine Drive ever since.

Thelma is survived by her four children: Jules Spill, Evan (Gail Kouame) Spill, Gayle Spill Ephraim, and Rorie (Jason) Solberg and her six grandchildren: Eden and Lilah Ephraim; Liam Spill; and Mason, Jacob, and Chloe Solberg.

Thelma made her home in Chicago without ever losing her New York sensibility. She was an incredible mother and grandmother; an avid tennis and Mah Jongg player; and a steadfast friend and confidante. Her generous nature, quick wit, and internal strength touched and aided people throughout her life. Thelma made everywhere she lived and went a better place. She is loved and will be missed.
