Obituary

Shirley (Gross) Schmidt, age 86, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2017 in the caring community at Brookdale Northbrook Assisted Living. Shirley was a native of St. Louis, Missouri, where she grew up with her sister Eleanor. She married Robert “Bob” Schmidt and moved to Chicago where she raised her three sons. She is preceded in death by her husband Bob Schmidt and survived by her three sons Don Schmidt of Las Vegas, NV, Dr. David (Nancy) Schmidt of Atlanta, GA, and Dr. Richard (Debra) Schmidt of Deerfield, IL. Adored Grandma of Adam (Melissa) Schmidt of Dunwoody, GA and Todd (Victoria) Schmidt of Washington, DC. Beloved Nana of Taylor Schmidt of Chicago, IL and Eli “My Buddy” Schmidt of Deerfield, IL. Great-grandmother of Henry Robert Schmidt of Dunwoody, GA. Dear sister of Eleanor (Irving) Brin of Clayton, MO. Service Friday, 12 Noon at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N.
