Obituary

Sandra Jo Hersh passed away on Monday, November 2nd, 2020 at 8:35 A.M. Born Sandra Jo Gordon on Monday, December 13th, 1943 at 5:23 P.M. in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Her father Mervin "Ditty" Gordon was serving in the United States Army positioned in Europe, while her mother Adele Gordon worked in the insurance industry. FDR was serving his third term and the United States was currently involved in World War Two. Upon the conclusion of the war, her brother Craig Gordon was born. Her early childhood experiences were cemented in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Where she developed a deep connection with her father, grandmother, grandfather, and her Cousin Alan Kaufman. Sandra's first marriage was to Norman Lasko, they had two sons--Marc Lasko and Adam Lasko. Her career sector spanned over 30 plus years as a high-school recruiter for trades schools which included--Greer Technical Institute, Lincoln Tech, and Illinois Institute of Technology. Her talents with her presentations in the classrooms were lauded for her performance year after year. Sandra had an expansive nature, enjoyed the big adventure, traveling around the globe with a quest for learning different cultures in foreign countries. Her passion for the literary arts, education, and publishing, included her beloved Book Club, an active member participating in-depth conversations regarding history, and historical events. Sandra had a gift for creative writing, poetry, and engaging in the group dynamic, which included a "Hat Show" focusing on different styles of hats throughout the passage of time. Highly successful with Historical Societies. Her one-on-one relationships were long-lasting. She had an organic talent for being generous, wise, and fostering long-term personal connections. Her social endeavors, and close friendships, was of paramount importance in her life-path. Sandra is survived by her second husband Allan Hersh, she was 77 years old.
