Obituary

Ruth Newman, 86, passed away on September 12, 2019 peacefully in the home of her daughter. She was born in 1933, in Paterson, NJ, the daughter of Florence and Irving Freidenrich. She was predeceased by her loving husband Sam in 2011.

Ruth graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson College, Class of 1955 with a degree in medical technology. Her greatest passions were singing and dancing. She was in the choir at the JCC of Paramus for many years, and went on to sing in the choir at Five Star Residence. She was also in several dance groups throughout her life, favoring Israeli Folk dancing.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her daughter Lori Newman and her wife Christine Motta, and her son Ron Newman and his wife Robin. She was a loving grandmother to Sophie and Levi Motta Huttner, Amanda Newman and Rachel Baraban. She is also survived by her brother Bob Freidenrich, his wife Dolores, her niece PJ Ross and husband John, and her niece and nephew Abigail and Zachary Ross.

She will always be remembered for her kind and gentle spirit.
