Obituary

Ronald Buchanan, 79, adored son of the late Earl Buchanan Sr. and the late Jacqueline Buchanan; beloved husband of the late Ruthi Buchanan, nee Gelfand, happily married for 49 years; loving father of Bradley (Lisa) Buchanan; cherished grandfather of Rachel; much loved brother of Earl (Marilyn) Buchanan Jr. and Nancy (Brian) Bosson; fond brother-in-law of Sandi (Nat) Gershman; much loved son-in-law of the late Dr. Leonard and the late Trudy Gelfand; treasured uncle to many nieces and nephews. Ron was a past President of the Chicago Curling Club and had a lifelong love of the sport, dating back to his childhood in Milwaukee. He was also an avid sailor and enjoyed sharing this passion with his family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dementia Society of America, www.dementiasociety.org or Second City Curling, www.secondcitycurling.org. Chapel service Friday, March 24, 2:30 PM at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Road, Arlington Heights. Interment following at Shalom Memorial Park.
