Obituary

Abel, Ricky of Williamstown, passed away on July 19th. Ricky was born in Atlantic City and raised in Ventnor. He went to Atlantic City High School, where he graduated, as well as was the President of Bones fraternity at school. He attended Stockton University and loved music. He wrote, sold, and played music since he was ten years old, recently reviving his band. Ricky was brilliant and a genius in a lot of ways. He wrote computer games, including the game Enchantasy. Ricky loved life, was a lover of dogs, and former Chancellor Commander of the Knights of Pythias Atlantic Lodge # 98.. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer, and son, Kyle, and mother, Carlye. Ricky is survived by his wife, Carol, children, Richard Abel and Savannah Abel, sister, Jani Abel, and father, William Abel. Synagogue services will be held at 11am on Friday July 22nd at Shirat Hayam, 700 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ventnor. Shirat Hayam’s Covid policies can be found at www.JSGFunerals.com. A live stream will be offered at the website for those who cannot attend. Interment will follow at the Emeth Shalom Cemetery, Egg Harbor Twp. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
